The Journey So Far and where we are heading

Over the past two years, your city's Public Works department has been diligently working on a multitude of projects designed to enhance your living experience. We have implemented a range of programs, including:

  1. Public Works Maintenance Zones: Focused efforts to maintain and beautify specific areas, ensuring a cleaner and safer environment for everyone. Public Works will focus on ensuring that we touch every asset the City owns within this zone over the year. In 2024 the City will focus on Zone 4 of the Map. We are working on getting a dashboard so that progress can be tracked and shown.

  2. Community Meetings: Within the current Public Works Maintenance Zone the city will reach out to each subdivision to discuss concerns or issues that affect that subdivision. This provides you with a platform to voice your concerns and ideas, strengthening the bond within our community.

  3. Street Maintenance 10-Year Program: A long-term commitment to improving our roads, enhancing accessibility, and ensuring smooth travel for all residents. The 2024 Street Maintenance list is located HERE

  4. Park Improvements: Revitalizing our green spaces, making them more enjoyable and conducive for family activities and relaxation. We have completed the Meadowview and Fairview upgrades with new play structures, cleaned up trails, added sidewalks, added pickleball courts, and, resurfaced basketball courts. in 2024 we will turn our focus to Windsor Ridge Park.

  5. Sport Complex Improvements: The goal is to have a top-notch venue, that attracts tournaments, but more importantly keeps Corinth Athletes here in Corinth. We have expanded the Soccer game area, improved baseball and softball field conditions, and improved overall drainage in the park. In 2024 we will improve baseball practice area and focus on turf conditioning of the game fields.

    1. A great example of the success of this project is the recent rain event. The crews were able to open the fields less than 24 hours after.

  6. Meter Replacement: Enhancing utility services with modern technology, ensuring accurate readings and efficient resource management. The Goal is to have residents to have access to their meter data by January 2024.

  7. Dog Park: Enhancing the play area for our furry friends was a major accomplishment for the Piper (a local girl scout) and the City. We are working on making more improvements to the area based on resident's feedback.

  8. Broadband: Conduit is still being installed within the subdivision's. The City has a meeting scheduled with Contractors to discuss the timeline and goals.

  9. Engineering: The City completed and started a lot of projects over the last two years. The best place for monthly project updates is HERE. Below are some highlights of questions that Public Works continuously gets asked:

    1. Lighting on Lake Sharon is getting close to being completed. The contractor is running wiring and the light poles just need to be shipped to the site.

    2. Public Works is working on creating a temporary roadway access to I35 from the new North Corinth Street route.

    3. The City has gotten approval to move forward with the Denton County/Shady Shores/Corinth Shady Shores roadway expansion. This will address the drainage in the area.
