  • Pickleball is all the rage. Corinth needs to catch up (one striped court with no net or fences isn't enough). When will a comprehensive plan from Parks and Recreation be available for review? Thanks in advance!

cmbay19 asked about 1 year ago

Thank you for your question!  Corinth currently has 3 pickleball courts; 2 located at Corinth Community Park, and 1 at Meadowview Park.  We will share your concern form more pickleball courts with the Parks & Recreation Board for future planning!  we have a current comprehensive plan that can be found HERE.

  • What is going on with the zone changing sign on post oaks road ?

Joyce simeone asked 10 months ago

The city has received a request to rezone approximately 20 acres on the east side of Post Oak Drive, south of the Provence Subdivision from the SF-2 Single Family zoning district to a Planned Development (PD) District to accommodate a proposed 69-lot single family subdivision (Hillside of Corinth) with 59 lots having a minimum lot size of 6,000 sq. ft and ten (10) lots having a minimum lot size of 11,400 sq. ft.  The link to the concept plan is below.

    CONCEPT (2) (cityofcorinth.com)

The proposed rezoning requires Public Hearings by the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council.  Information regarding the public hearings can be found at this link:

  • Is a permit required when having your roof replaced?

Mickeyt9 asked about 1 year ago

A roofing permit is required, but there is no fee.  The primary purpose is to document the work performed so a resident can locate the contractor and have proof from the Building Department when applying for Homeowners Insurance.  Depending on the conditions the Building Department may do a follow-up inspection or assist in gaining additional work such as deck (plywood) replacement.  Once the work is complete the Building Department will do a courtesy inspection on request to make sure all vent piping is placed properly to insure carbon monoxide does not enter the home.

You can apply for a permit here: https://trakit.cityofcorinth.com/etrakit/default.aspx

  • My apartment complex told us that they cant open the pool up because the city refuses to come out to inspect due to covid. But as I drive around and look at other apartments in my area, I notice how they have pools open. I am upset because I feel like I am being lied too.

imhannahg asked over 3 years ago

It’s actually regulated by the State. Similar to other public businesses, by Executive Order, Pools open to the public or a community may operate at 50% of the normal operating limit. Opening is at the owner's discretion. There are some that are open at 50% and some are staying closed because it is hard for their staff to enforce the 50% rule. Technically spas/hot tubs are to remain closed since the Executive Order only mentioned pools. The City will/has performed inspections again, it is the owner's discretion.

  • There is a notice posted about a zoning change for the old Huffines auto dealership grounds. What are the plans for that area? Thanks.

donaldduck asked about 4 years ago

The applicant has requested a zoning change to maintain the base zoning district of Commercial with an overlay for a Planned Development to allow for a combination of uses and design regulations to facilitate the construction and operation of a automobile and truck rental, and lease car sales for Enterprise.

  • Why are homeowners allowed to park RV's on the streets and in driveways and LIVE IN THEM? And what can be done to stop this? It's trashing up our neighborhood!!

texasfishergal1 asked about 4 years ago

The Code of Ordinances allows boats/ trailers/ & RV’s to be parked in the street for no more than 48 consecutive hours. Additionally, boats/trailers/ & RV’s may be parked on someone’s driveway so long as the driveway is paved, or if on a lot 3 acres or more is an all-weather surface.

If a vehicle has been parked in the street for more than 48 hours residents can inform the Police Department so that they may investigate the situation and take appropriate action if needed through the city's report a concern center.

If the vehicle is parked on a driveway on private property and is believed to be currently being used as an on site dwelling unit, residents can reach out to Code Enforcement so that they may investigate the complaint. Residents may contact the Code Enforcement Officer through the report a concern center, by email at codeenforcement@cityofcorinth.com or by phone at (940) 498-3274.

  • There is a zoning change request sign posted on the property formerly occupied by Huffines just south of Post Oak and I-35E. To what are you asking the zoning to be changed? And what are the plans for that property? Thanks.

  • Why can't my water deposit be returned? Service 2007, zero late payments.

growth2020 asked about 4 years ago

Good question!   In regards to holding of deposits on active accounts.  City ordinance (number 90-09-20-70, Section 1.08) only allows for the refund of deposits at the time service is discontinued.  We will be reviewing city ordinances related to Utility Billing within the next six months and will be sure to review this section.

  • Were you apprised that the roof on the Lighthouse Day Care at Robinson and Poast Oak was going to be red plastic? It’s so ugly. Did you know a shade tree would be removed on Post Oak to make an entry lane to the DayCare?

Susiesunshine asked about 4 years ago

Thanks for reaching out!  The Metal roof is an approved application.   State Legislature prohibits cities from regulating exteriors. Therefore the corporate color used on the roof is allowable. The city has also historically required brick exteriors on most structures and now they can be any material.  The trees that were removed were mitigated and are going to be replaced with four (4) – Four inch caliper trees within the median.
